Car Bomb Attack on Church in Iraq Wounds 14; Dozens of Homes in Kirkuk Damaged from Bomb

The Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty website reports today (August 2, 2011) that a car bomb attack on a Christian church in the city of Kirkuk in northern Iraq has wounded at least 14 people.

A priest was among those injured in the blast on August 2, which heavily damaged the church, forcing it to close.

Dozens of homes in the area were also damaged.

Iraqi Christians have often been targeted in attacks -- which have sent thousands fleeing the country -- since the 2003 U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.
