Palestinian gunmen today (August 18, 2011) attacked an Israeli bus traveling near Eilat -- the first in a series of attacks that have left seven Israelis dead -- according to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency website.
Palestinian infiltrators from Gaza struck the bus shortly after noon today.
Two other attacks -- roadside bombs detonated as a vehicle drove past and another on Israeli troops -- occurred in the same area shortly afterwards.
Israeli media reported that Israeli soldiers have killed three of the terrorists.
Israel has blamed the attacks on Egypt, and said it will retaliate against the attacks.
