Desiring to "take a break" from the endless pressures of the job, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley announced today (October 9, 2018) that she will resign her position at the end of the year, according to the UPI website.
Speaking to reporters with President Donald Trump, Haley said it was time to open the door for someone else.
"It was an honor of a lifetime," Haley said of her UN position.
Trump credited Haley for making progress in North Korean denuclearization and pushing Iran toward making a new nuclear deal with the U.S., since the administration withdrew the 2015 Iran agreement.
