Bridal Shop to Close Rather Than Serve Lesbians; Owners Won't Give Up Their Faith to Serve Govt.

A Christian bridal shop in Pennsylvania that has faced death threats for refusing to sell wedding dresses to lesbian partners will close its doors permanently, the Christian Post website reports today (March 5, 2018).

W.W. Bridal in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania has announced it will close down officially on March 30.

Co-owner Lisa Boucher, who owns the store along with her mother and two sisters, said the main reason for the store closing is the probability that the Bloomburg Town Council will pass an ordinance banning stores from discriminating on sexual orientation.

The shop posted a note on Facebook today citing Matthew 19:4 to justify its decision to close..."We will not be forced by government, local ordinances or bullies to participate in something that goes against our faith."
