Two men were arrested today (March 26, 2018) over yesterday's killing of an 85-year-old Jewish woman -- a Holocaust survivor -- whose stabbed body was found after her Paris apartment was set ablaze, according to the Times of Israel website.
An autopsy conducted on the woman -- who had lived alone -- identified her as Mirelle Kanol. Her charred body had at least 11 stab wounds.
A forensic examination of the apartment showed that an arsonist started a fire in at least five distinct areas of that space, a report said.
An anti-Semitic watchdog initially said the case appeared to be an anti-Semitic hate crime, but later said there was no immediate evidence of anti-Semitism.
