Volunteers Build Church in Perry, IA in 30 Hours; Completion Took Much Preparation, Coordination

The Christian Post website reports today (May 31, 2012) that although constructing churches has been known to take years, decades -- or even centuries -- one Iowa church was built in 30 hours last weekend.

Thee Calvary Tabernacle Church of Perry, Iowa was completed by an army of some 300 volunteers, who were part of the United Pentecostal Church International's "Church in a Day" program.

Rex Deckard,  pastor of  Cavalry Apostolic Church of Des Moines -- the church from which Cavalry Tabernacle came from -- said the effort "took a tremendous amount of advanced preparation and coordination."

Gregg Davison -- the pastor of the church -- was the single most important key in carrying the project to fruition, Deckard added.
