Teens Charged in Murder of Elderly Church Guard; Guard Was Shot in Car in the Church Parking Lot

The One News Now website reports today (May 27, 2012) that two Detroit teenagers have been arraigned on second-degree murder charges in the slaying of an 84-year-old security guard, who was shot in the parking lot of a church while a Bible study was taking place inside.

Alandre Boone, 18, and Anthony Williams, 15, have been charged as adults in Joseph Lewis' death earlier this month.

The two also face felony firearm charges.

Lewis was sitting in a car the night of May 9 outside Victor Way Assembly Church of God in Christ when he was attacked. During a struggle, Lewis was shot to death.
