The Spero Forum website reports today (May 5, 2012) that an Australian Catholic priest has been removed from his parish by Bishop Anthony Fisher of the Diocese of Parramatta, following revelations that the pastor was married.
Father Kevin Lee said he met his wife in the Philippines, where he secretly married her in 2011.
Fr. Lee added that admitting that he is married -- although not in a Catholic sacramental union -- was motivated by what he claims is the double life led by priests Down Under. "I think celibacy has to go," he said.
Fr. Lee served at Australia's Padre Pio parish in Glenmore Park.
