First Woman to Head ELCA Synod Is Installed; Plans to Work with Other Faiths for Common Good

The Christian Broadcast Network website reports today (May 8, 2012) that the first woman to head the Minneapolis synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) -- the largest synod in the ELCA --  has officially begun her duties.

The Rev. Ann Svennungsen was installed during a ceremony on Sunday, May 6.

Svennungsen said the ELCA already has a strong track record of working with other denominations to serve the common good.

She added that's something that she intends to continue under her leadership.
