The Big News Network website reports today (May 6, 2012) that a trial against Sarah Ferguson -- Britain's Duchess of York -- has begun in a Turkish court.
The court proceedings -- which are going ahead without Ferguson -- concern charges laid by police over alleged secret filming.
The charges relate to the violation of privacy of five children for a documentary on Turkish orphanages.
Court papers show that Ferguson entered Turkey in 2008 to take part in a secret expose of orphanages in the country, thus acquiring film footage illegally.
