German Anti-Semitism Soars 70 Yrs. after WWII; Over 1.5M Muslim Refugees in 2016 Fuel Hatred

The legacy of anti-Semitism is still haunting Germany, the Fox News website reports today (January 26, 2018).

The evidence, as Germany marks International Holocaust Remembrance Day tomorrow (January 27),  is unavoidable. There are swastikas on buildings, desecrated Jewish cemeteries, anti-Semitic comments flooding social media, Israeli flags burned at demonstrations, and physical assaults on Jews.

According to the latest figures available from the Ministry of the Interior, there were 1,468 anti-Semitic offenses reported in 2016. German Jews are concerned about the 1.5 million Muslim refugees who entered Germany in 2015-16 because many come from countries where hatred of Jews is religious doctrine.

Jewish leaders like Charlotte Knobloch, president of the Jewish Community of Munich and Northern Bavaria, express frustration with the situation. Knobloch laments the fact that more than 70 years after the Holocaust, Jewish public life is not possible without police protection.
