Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu -- who is furious that U.S. President Barack Obama continues to delay in agreeing to an Israeli airstrike on a nuclear-threatening Iran -- shouted "Time has run out!" at U.S. Ambassador Dan Shapiro, as the two met in Israel this week and discussed the Obama administration's position on Iran, the Breitbart website reports today (August 31, 2012).
The Israeli prime minister could not hold back his frustration with President Obama any longer in his meeting with Shapiro.
"Instead of pressuring Iran in an effective way, Obama and his people are pressuring us not to attack the nuclear facilities," Netanyahu said. Those attending the meeting say that Netanyahu then said assertively: "Time has run out!" A no-holds-barred shouting match then broke out, as the Israeli prime minister let loose on the U.S. ambassador.
Shapiro served on the Obama campaign in 2008, and in that capacity helped shore up Obama's attempts to portray himself as pro-Israel. Many political analysts believe that Obama does not want Israel to attack Iran until after the November U.S. presidential election, because he fears that such an attack will lessen his chances of being re-elected president.
