Former Greece, New York bus monitor Karen Klein -- whose videotaped harassment at the hands of middle-school children went viral on You Tube and made national headlines earlier this summer -- is using $100,000 of the donated money she received for her distress to start the Karen Klein Anti-Bullying Foundation, the Democrat and Chronicle (NY) website reports today (August 23, 2012).
The mission of the Karen Klein Anti-Bullying Foundation is to put an end to bullying.
The foundation is launching a music tour called the No Bully Tour 2012 awareness campaign. It will also be supporting other organizations such as Max Sidorov's 7 Million Acts of Love, Play Pretty, Play Pals Project, and Pacer Center's Teens Against Bullying.
An online fund-raising campaign started by Toronto nutritionist Max Sidorov -- who was inspired by the reaction of the 68-year-old grandmother -- raised more than $700,000 with donations from more than 32,000 people to send Klein on a vacation.
