NC Cop Chaplains Told Not to Use Jesus in Prayer; Goal Is to Be More Sensitive toward All Religions

The One News Now website reports today (June 24, 2012) that the volunteer chaplains of North Carolina's Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department have been told to leave the name Jesus out of their prayers at official ceremonies.

The directive applies to events such as police graduations, memorials, and promotions.

Maj. John Diggs says the goal is to be more sensitive to all the religions of the more than 2,000 police employees.

Diggs threatened to replace any chaplain who does not comply with the new policy. All six of the chaplains are Christian, although the department's employees include Muslims and Jews.

  1. The Lord Jesus was right that He would be the cause of division. Truth has that effect.

Why are Christians the only people to whom nobody need show sensitivity?
