Idaho Priest Shocks GOP Leaders with Invocation; Asks Lord for President Obama's Defeat on Nov. 7

The Boise Weekly website reports today (June 28, 2012) that Father Michael St. Marie -- faith leader of St. Edward Parish in Twin Falls, Idaho -- shocked some 400 people with his invocation that opened the Idaho State GOP Convention on June 22.

St. Marie prayed, "Dear Lord, I ask that on Tuesday, November 7, you find a new job for President Obama."

Diocese spokesman Michael Brown told the Boise Weekly, "The Diocese has no comment, but I can tell you that the Diocese does not condone or support any candidate for public office."

St. Marie's prayer was greeted by cheers from the 400 attendees representing Idaho's 44 counties.
