Parent Rage Makes School Return "God" to Song; Changed God Bless the USA to We Love the USA

The New American website reports today (April 9, 2012) that a Massachusetts elementary school -- that got in over its head when it censored the word "God" from a song planned for a student concert -- has reversed its decision, as a result of an uproar from parents.

Parents of fourth-graders at Stall Brook Elementary School in Bellingham, Massachusetts reacted strongly after administrators removed the word "God" from the popular and patriotic Lee Greenwood song "God Bless the USA," and changed it to "We Love the USA."

Greenwood said, "Maybe the school should have asked the parents their thoughts before changing the lyrics to the song."

He added, "They could have asked the writer of the song, which I of course, would have said you can't change the lyrics at all or any part of the song."

  1. I'm glad the students will be singing the song as it was originally written...
