Iowa Senator: Colombian Prostitutes May Be Spies; Demands White House Release Info on US Scandal

The Mediaite website reports that Iowa Republican Senator Chuck Grassley today (April 24, 2012) spoke with Radio Iowa, and said that the Colombian prostitutes -- solicited by the U.S. Secret Service -- could very well have been Russian spies.

"We're looking at something that is very, very serious when national security might not be protected properly," Grassley explained.

He added, "Who knows who might be using prostitutes? The Russians are famous for that to get information out of us."

Grassley has demanded that the White House Counsel  release information about the "quick weekend internal investigation," which sought whether White House personnel were also involved in the Secret Service scandal. Some 20 Secret Service civilian and military personnel have already been suspended -- and several have resigned -- as a result of the prostitution scandal.
