The Newser website reports today (April 24, 2012) that a Brazilian actor -- who accidentally hanged himself earlier this month during a scene in "The Passion of Christ" -- has died.
A hospital in Brazil's Sao Paulo state confirmed on its website yesterday the death of 27-year-old Tiago Klimeck.
Klimeck accidentally hanged himself during a scene in which his character Judas commits suicide for betraying Christ.
About four minutes passed before anyone noticed that Klimeck was really dying, as it was believed that he was just playing his part -- by pretending to die -- in the play.
