The Europe News website reports today (April 19, 2012) that a Christian woman was harassed, beaten, and stripped naked in public by some Muslims in Punjab, India, because in her family people like to dress up too much. When her 22-year-old son tried to help her, the Muslim extremists fired at him but narrowly missed him.
As tragic as this is, it is typical of the violence and persecution that Christians endure. More than a month after this incident -- which occurred in mid-March -- both police and the courts have not brought any redress or punished the offenders.
Shamin Bibi -- a 42-year-old mother of five -- was the victim of the Muslim attack.
The reason for the Muslims' action is that they do not want Christians to "dress up" -- even on holidays or on Sunday for church.
