The Jewish Press website reports today (December 5, 2017) that President Donald Trump spoke with Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas and the King of Jordan Abdullah II last night, and informed them that he intends to move the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
Extremely troubled by Trump's decision, both the PA and the Kingdom of Jordan released statements today stating that this is what Trump told them. The PA had already called for three days of rage starting on December 6 even before receiving Trump's phone call, due to rumors last week of the expected embassy move.
No indication was given for a timeline as to when this will happen.
There is some expectation that tomorrow (December 6), Trump will also officially recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
