As a result of a law being proposed in Bulgaria to criminalize radical Islam, a new poll was conducted in the U.S. to determine how Americans feel about such a law being enacted in the U.S., the Clarion Project website reports today (December 16, 2017).
The law would criminalize the promotion of radical Islam, including the advocating for violent jihad, a caliphate, or sharia law.
The poll asked, "Should the U.S. criminalize the promotion of radical Islam?"
The results of the poll show that 91.6 percent said "yes;" 5.7 percent said "only if the promotion of radical Islam includes violent jihad;" and 2.7 percent said "no, the promotion of radical Islam is protected under the constitutionally guaranteed right of free speech."
