The European Union (EU) leaders do not support President Trump's stance of recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital, the Christian Headlines website reports today (December 18, 2017).
"EU leaders reiterate firm commitment to the two-state solution and, in this context, the EU position on Jerusalem remains unchanged," EU President Donald Tusk said.
EU foreign policy leader Federica Mogherini also warned that Trump's decision could take Arab-Israeli tensions "backwards to even darker times."
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem and said he expected most European countries to do so, but Mogherini said Netanyahu should "keep his expectations for others."
