The New York Post website -- in an exclusive article -- reports today (August 21, 2011) that the Manhattan DA's office will ask a judge to dismiss all charges against Dominique Strauss-Khan when he appears in court on Tuesday, August 23.
Prosecutors plan to file what's called a Dismissal on Recommendation motion, which will say the indictment against Strauss-Khan cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt because of credibility problems with the sole witness in the case, Strauss-Khan's hotel-maid accuser.
The expected move was slammed today by a lawyer representing Strauss-Khan's alleged victim, who questioned prosecutors' motives and called the dismissal request "incomprehensible."
The prosecutors' motion -- which will ask Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Michael Obus to dismiss the indictment -- will probably be granted immediately, according to law experts, who have experienced similar motions in the past.
