The attack on Halfaya in central Syria centered around the same area that was seized last week by Syrian rebels. Today's airstrike is believed to be one of the most deadly strikes since the Syrian civil war broke out 21 months ago.
More than 44,000 people have been killed in the past 21 months. About 100 people are now being killed in Syria each day; more than 180 deaths occurred today.
A bread shortage has sent over 1,000 people into long street lines to wait for food each day.
