President Barack Obama told a gathering of Reform Jews today (December 16, 2011) that his record of support for Israel has been "unprecedented," the Jewish Telegraphic Agency website reports.
"No U.S. administration has done more in support of Israel's security than ours -- none," he said in an address this afternoon to more than 5,000 people at the biennial conference of the Union of Reform Judaism.
Obama listed areas of close U.S.-Israeli cooperation, including missile defense and Iran sanctions.
However, the Republican National Committee published data in today's issue of the conservative Human Events magazine, showing Obama to be vulnerable to losses among Jewish voters in key states -- including Florida -- in next year's presidential election.
