Muslim Students at CUA Claim Rights Violated; Office of Human Rights Investigates Allegations

The Europe News website reports today (November 1, 2011) that Muslim students at Catholic University of America (CUA) in Washington, DC, have complained that their human rights have been violated by the college.

They have accused CUA of banning them from forming a Muslim student group and failing to provide prayer rooms without Christian symbols.

The Office of Human Rights is investigating 60 pages of allegations against CUA.

The students claim they are surrounded by "a wooden crucifix, paintings of Jesus, pictures of priests and theologians which many Muslim students find inappropriate."
