The Big News Network website reports today (November 8, 2011) that a private conversation between French President Nicolas Sarkozy and U.S. President Barack Obama -- who did not realize that reporters could hear them -- reveals that Sarkozy referred to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as "a liar."
"I cannot bear Netanyahu, he's a liar," Sarkozy reportedly told Obama. The exchange took place while Obama was berating Sarkozy for backing the Palestinian bid for membership in UNESCO.
"You're fed up," Obama replied, "but I have to deal with it all day."
A technical hitch allowed reporters to listen in on the private conversation, which took place at the G20 summit meeting on November 3. In a show of respect for the privacy of the two presidents, the press did not disseminate this information to the public -- until today when a French website first revealed it.
