Texas Church Gives Out 16 Cars at Easter Services in Effort to Attract Non-Churchgoers

Sixteen cars, 15 flat-screen televisions, furniture sets, laptops, bikes, and other prizes were given away at Bay Area Fellowship Church in Corpus Christi, Texas on Easter Sunday (April 4, 2010), in an effort to attract non-churchgoers.

Pastor Bil Cornelius, who compared the creative idea to the TV show "The Price is Right," admitted it was a bit "outrageous."

But he saw it as "an opportunity to share Christ with people who may never go to church for any reason," he told The Christian Post website.

The prizes were worth over $2 million, and were all donated items or sponsored by members of the church.
