Father Shawn Aaron, president of Southern Catholic College, announced today that as of April 15, 2010, Southern Catholic College will be closing its doors for the semester.
Efforts to raise money for the new school have not met expectations, making it impossible for the school to continue through the end of the semester, May 13. Students will be able to retain the credits that they earned this semester, according to the National Catholic Register website.
The college -- located one hour north of Atlanta in Dawsonville, Georgia -- was founded in 2000 as the first Catholic college in Georgia.
There is no word yet on whether the closing will be temporary or permanent.
