The Orthodox Beacon website reports today (April 17, 2010) that 78 percent of Americans share the belief that Jesus Christ was resurrected from the dead.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 10 percent do not believe Christ rose from the dead, and another 11 percent are not sure.
Eighty-five percent also think that the person known to history as Jesus Christ actually walked the earth 2,000 years ago. Six percent disagree. Eight percent are not sure.
Nearly as many adults -- 81 percent -- believe that Jesus was the Son of God who came to earth and died for our sins. Ten percent do not think that is true, and nine percent are not sure.
