The Spero Forum website reports today (July 15, 2012) that Patriarch Gregorios III -- the Greek Catholic Patriarch of Alexandria -- has sent a letter to President Mohammed Mursi of Egypt, congratulating him as the new president of Egypt.
In the letter, Patriarch Gregorios states that he is proud to be an Egyptian citizen, and pledges to support Mursi in his great responsibility.
Patriarch Gregorios also emphasizes the importance of Arab unity, in order to find a just, global, and permanent solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
He concludes his letter by saying he would like to meet with Mursi, in order to wish him good wishes in person from Egypt's Greek Catholic sons and daughters, faithful to their mission in its service and to their loyalty to it.
