The Big News Network website reports today (July 8, 2012) that a video showing the public execution of a woman -- accused of adultery by the Taliban -- has been condemned by the Afghan government.
The video showed a turban-clad man shooting the woman -- who had been forced to sit on the ground -- with an automatic rifle.
Prior to the shooting a group of men are seen reading verses from the Koran, after which they announce the woman should be executed for adultery.
The government of Kabul has ordered an immediate military operation to find those responsible for the woman's murder.
