Swastikas were discovered painted on the walls of a synagogue in central Jerusalem today (June 21, 2017), according to the JTA (Jewish Telegraphic Agency) website.
The vandalism was discovered in the Hasidic Lelov synagogue in the Nachalot neighborhood. Swastikas were also painted on the outside walls of nearby apartment buildings.
Police said the vandals also attempted to set fire to religious books in the synagogue.
Swastika attacks on synagogues in Israel are rare.
