IS Supporter Kills Two Police Officials Near Paris; Attacker Killed by Police, Was Under Surveillance

French President Francois Hollande said today (June 14, 2016) that the murder of two French police officials last night by a man claiming allegiance to the Islamic State (IS) is "unquestionably a terrorist act," the BBC website reports.

A police commander and his partner were stabbed to death at their home in the town of Magnanville, a western suburb of Paris. Their three-year-old survived.

Named by French sources as Larossi Abballa, the attacker was killed in a police assault on the house.

Abballa, 25, had been under recent police surveillance -- including a wiretap -- police said.
