A new survey has found that 44 percent of America's millenials would rather live in a socialist society than a capitalist country, the Alternet News website reports today (November 4, 2017).
The research and data firm YouGov surveyed 23,000 people aged 16 and over for the survey.
The socialist movement saw a significant increase in youth favoring the socialist principles advocated by Sen. Bernie Sanders during the 2016 presidential campaign.
Marion Smith, executive director of Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, said, "Millenials are increasingly turning away from capitalism, and toward socialism and even communism as a viable alternative."
