U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, blasted the United Nations yesterday in a defiant speech to the 193-member General Assembly before it adopted a resolution calling for an end to the U.S. economic embargo on Cuba, the Yahoo News website reports today (November 2, 2017).
Haley called the resolution a "political theater."
"This assembly does not have the power to end the U.S. embargo," Haley said.
"It [the U.S. embargo] is based in U.S. law, which only the U.S. Congress can change," she added.
