Netanyahu to Trump:Let Pollard Move to Israel; Court Ruled Convicted Spy Must Remain in US

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has asked U.S. President Donald Trump to allow convicted spy Jonathan Pollard to immigrate to Israel, the Times of Israel website reports today (November 1, 2017).

Pollard served nearly 30 years in prison on a conviction of spying for Israel and has been prevented from moving to the Jewish state since his 2015 release.

In May, a U.S. federal appeals court rejected Pollard's request to lift restrictive parole conditions that were established following his prison release.

Pollard, 62, must remain in the U.S. for five years after his prison release, despite his strong desire to move to Israel.
