Ecumenical Patriarch Visits Patriarch of Romania; Visit Strengthens Churches' Brotherly Communion

The Patriarch of Romania met Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the Henri Coanda Airport in Bucharest, Romania yesterday (October 27, 2010), accompanied by a group of Eastern Orthodox hierarchs, according to the Orthodox Church Info blog.

His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, said, "We receive you with great joy because the presence of Your Holiness here is an honor for us, for the Romanian people, and contributes, at the same time to the strengthening of the brotherly communion between our sister Orthodox Churches."

The Ecumenical Patriarch's visit to Romania was planned to coincide with Romania's celebration of Saint Great Martyr Dimitrie, the Myrrh Bearer, Protector of Bucharest.
