Despite being indicted recently on corruption and bribery charges, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was re-elected to a fifth term today (April 10, 2019), according to the Reuters website.
With 99 percent of the votes counted, Netanyahu's conservative Likud party appeared to muster enough support to control 65 of the Knesset's 120 seats and be named to head the next coalition government.
U.S. President Donald Trump phoned Netanyahu to congratulate him on his re-election.
Netanyahu thanked President Trump for his "tremendous support for Israel."
