Vogue Magazine Returns to Greece after 7 Years; Greece's "Great Depression" Has Finally Ended

After seven years of absence in Greece due to that country's own "Great Depression," fashion magazine Vogue hit the nation's newsstands today (March 31, 2019), according to the Euro News website.

"Dear Vogue Greece, welcome back again," Anna Wintour, Vogue editor-in-chief since 1988, wrote in the Greek comeback edition titled "Eyes on the future" which starred model Bella Hadid on its cover.

Publishers expect the country's economic recovery, following a debt crisis for nearly a decade, will revive an appetite for glossy fashion and lifestyle prints.

"Your return after years of absence fills us with joy. Greece faced problems and lived dramatic moments. I can only imagine how tough it was. However, the signs of recovery are now visible, even here in America," Wintour concluded.
