The Austrian Times website reports today (July 5, 2012) that a man has been sentenced to one-and-a-half years in prison for making a Hitler salute at a political speech of Austria's far right politician Karl Heinz Strache in Vienna, Austria.
The 34-year-old man was charged for making the Nazi sign -- which is illegal in Austria -- while at an anti-Islam demonstration against the building of a new Islamic culture center in the city in June 2010.
The skinhead -- who was just five meters from Strache -- was photographed by a newspaper photographer making the Hitler salute. It was then published in the paper.
Ironically, Adolf Hitler was born in Austria in the small town of Braunau, near the German border.
