Turkey to Send 3K Refugees to Greece Each Day; Greek Intel: Turkey May Break EU Refugee Deal

Greek intelligence officials claim that the Turkish government has a secret plan to allow 3,000 refugees to sail to Greece every day, the Independent (British) website reports today (December 1, 2016).

The Greek officials said thousands of dinghies and motorboats have massed along the Turkish coast as the refugee deal agreed between Ankara and Brussels in March appears ready to collapse. Last week, the EU parliament voted to stop accession talks of Turkey joining the EU (European Union), as a result of Turkey's loss of human rights.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan threatened to open the borders if the EU continued to block talks on Turkey's accession to the EU.

According to the Greek newspaper "Proto Thema," Turkey has given up on hope of the EU living up to its side of the deal and could start allowing the refugees to flee to Greece and several Greek islands "within a matter of weeks."
