Nine Die in Berlin Christmas Market Truck Attack; May Be Terror Attack Like The One in Nice in July

At least nine people are dead and about 50 are injured in a suspected terror attack in Berlin when a Schwarzmuller rental truck plowed into a Christmas Market tonight (December 19, 2016), according to The Daily Beast website.

Police arrested one suspect in the attack. A second occupant of the truck's cab is dead.

Today's attack occurred in Charlottenburg, a leafy, affluent area of the German capital known as the Times Square of Berlin.

Police have not specified a motive for the incident, but it is similar to a terrorist attack in Nice, France on July 14 -- France's Independence Day -- in which an Islamic State (IS) terrorist drove a truck into a crowd of people, killing 86. The Islamic State claimed responsibility for today's attack.
