Christian Cemetery Desecrated in the Holy Land; Offensive Arabic Graffiti Found on Graves,Walls

The Christian cemetery of the village of Kfar Yassif in Galilee, northern Israel, was desecrated on December 1, the Independent Catholic News website reports today (December 4, 2016).

Blasphemous and obscene graffiti -- written in Arabic -- was found on several graves and funerary plaques as well as on the outer walls of the cemetery.

The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem -- in communion with all the churches of the Holy Land -- has strongly condemned this act of vandalism and asked the police to find the perpetrators and bring them to justice as soon as possible.

The Patriarchate shares the sadness of the families of the deceased of Kfar Yassif and has expressed to them his closeness and solidarity.
