FBI:Hate Crimes of Muslims Are up 67% in 2015; Jews Go On as Most Often Target of Hate Crimes

FBI statistics released yesterday show that reported hate crimes against Muslims in the U.S. rose in 2015 to their highest levels since those seen since those following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the Times of Israel website reports today (November 15, 2016).

The reporting period covers the calendar year 2015.

In 2015, there were 257 incidents of anti-Muslim bias compared to 154 incidents the prior year, an increase of 67 percent.

Jews and Jewish institutions remain the most frequent target of religious-based hate crimes, representing 53 percent of all those reported. Crimes against Jews increased about 9 percent.
