Terror attacks in Baghdad killed at least 46 people today (October 15, 2016), including a suicide bombing claimed by the Islamic State (IS) group, the AFP (Agence France-Presse) website reports.
The violence -- the deadliest to hit Baghdad in several months -- comes as Iraqi forces prepare for an operation to retake Mosul, the last IS-held city in Iraq.
In today's deadliest attack, a suicide bomber targeted a funeral tent where mourners were gathered, killing at least 34 people and wounding at least 36. IS claimed responsibility for the attack.
Also today, IS terrorists attacked two areas north of Baghdad, killing 12 more people, according to police.
