Both the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and the National Education Association (NEA) -- America's two largest teachers' unions -- are supporting teaching the school children of America that their country is an oppressive nation, and has been from its beginning, the New American website reports today (July 9, 2021).
After 21 states have adopted some form of ban on critical racist theory (CRT), Randi Weingarten, president of the AFT, blamed Republicans of bullying teachers against the teaching of "honest history."
By "honest history," Weingarten means teaching American history in such a way that this nation's heritage is presented as one long episode of oppression of blacks.
