Pope Francis today (September 6, 2020) urged his subjects to refrain from gossiping and instead "offer silence and prayer" during his weekly address above St. Peter's Square, according to the Mirror (British) website.
He condemned gossiping as "a worse plague" than coronavirus that could be used to divide the Roman Catholic Church during his weekly blessing.
"The devil is the great gossip. He is always saying bad things about others because he is the liar who tries to split the Church," Francis added.
