Vice President Mike Pence told graduating seniors at the country's largest Christian university they should expect to be "ridiculed" for their beliefs, the Washington Examiner website reports today (May 13, 2019).
"Throughout most of American history, it's been pretty easy to call yourself Christian," Pence said at Liberty University commencement on May 11.
"It didn't even occur to people that you might be shunned or ridiculed for defending the teachings of the Bible. But things are different now," Pence told the graduates.
He added, "Some of the loudest voices for tolerance today have little tolerance for traditional Christian beliefs. Be ready."
