Pentagon Study:US Role in World "Collapsing;" US Has Lost Its Lead Position in World Affairs

A new Pentagon study concludes that the U.S.-backed framework of international order established after World War II is now "collapsing," leading the U.S. to lose its position of "primacy" in world affairs, the Raw Story website reports today (July 22, 2017).

The article was produced in partnership with AlterNet and Insurge Intelligence.

The document concludes that the world has entered a new phase of transformation in which U.S. power is in decline, international order is unravelling, and the authority of governments around the world is crumbling.

Having lost its status of  "pre-eminence," the U.S. now inhabits a dangerous, unpredictable "post-primacy" world, whose defining feature is "resistance to authority."
